Members will undertake to report any suspected criminal activities to the relevant authorities.<br />5. Members will comply with all relevant local, state and federal government laws and regulations regarding a self storage business.<br />6. Members will use a current approved SSAA storage agreement or develop an alternative that delivers the equivalent contractual agreement.<br />7. Members will ensure that staff are competent in their duties and complete appropriate training in current industry practices.<br />8. Pack heavy items like books, tools into smaller boxes so that they are easier to handle.</li><li>Label your boxes in case you have to find something while it&rsquo;s in storage. All larger items should go into the unit first, placed on the floor with lighter things on top of them. You can also fill the drawers and the cupboards</li><li>Spray furniture with good polish beforehand.</li><li>It is best to cover your effects with old sheets, blankets or towels especially if you are storing for an extended period of time.</li><li>During humid summer and damp winter months we recommend that you use moisture absorber in your unit.</li><li>Defrost, dry and clean refrigerators and freezers before storing and leave doors ajar. A deodoriser placed inside is also a good idea to maintain freshness. A cost effective option is a small container of baking soda.</li><li>Drain water from washing machine hoses and tape them to the back of the machine. Mark hoses &ldquo;hot or cold&rdquo; if not indicated.</li><li>Wrap breakables (china &amp; Crystal) individually in bubble wrap or paper, packing them tightly into a strong box or tea chest. Fill gaps with scrunched up paper to prevent items moving around. Mark the boxes&nbsp; "FRAGILE" and store carefully so that they can not fall down. DO NOT place anything heavy on top. Bubble wrap paintings, mirrors bubble wrap and store in an upright position.</li><li>Large plastic rubbish bags are a good way to store linen.</li><li>Computers, stereos, TV, videos and electrical equipment need special care. The original boxes are highly recommended for packing.&nbsp; However bubble wrap and a quality box will do the job.Fill in the gaps.</li><li>Remove batteries from battery-operated appliances and toys to avoid damage from leaking batteries.</li><li>Keep items off the floor for long term storage to improve airflow.
